1. Overview

FreeCalling ("the Extension"), by Team MakeWorldHappy, is a peer-to-peer audio and video calling Chrome extension. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what the Extension does and does not do with data. It is written to comply with the Chrome Web Store Program Policies, the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, and applicable privacy laws.

2. Summary

We do not collect, sell, share, or transfer any personal information.
We do not require an account, login, email, phone number, or profile.
We do not use analytics, tracking, fingerprinting, or advertising.
Your audio and video are sent directly to the other participant (peer-to-peer) and are never recorded, stored, or routed through our servers.

3. Information the Extension Processes

The Extension processes only the minimum data required to connect two users for a call:

The Extension requests camera and microphone access only at the moment a call is placed or answered, via the browser's standard getUserMedia prompt.

4. Information We Do NOT Collect

FreeCalling does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:

Names, emails, phone numbers, or physical addresses
Payment or financial information
Contacts or address books
Location data
Browsing history or visited URLs
Call history or call recordings
IP-based profiles or advertising identifiers
Any other personal or sensitive information

No personal data is ever sent to the extension developer or any server operated by Team MakeWorldHappy.

5. Third-Party Services

The Extension uses Google Firebase (Realtime Database and Anonymous Authentication) solely as a signaling relay to help two browsers find each other. Firebase receives only the ephemeral signaling data described above. See Google's privacy documentation: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

The Extension uses Google's public STUN server (stun:stun.l.google.com:19302) for NAT traversal. STUN exchanges only network candidate information needed to establish the connection.

6. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the Extension's single purpose. We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

7. Security

All media is end-to-end encrypted in transit by WebRTC (DTLS-SRTP).
Signaling access is restricted by Firebase Security Rules and anonymous authentication.
The Extension enforces a strict Content Security Policy and never executes remote or dynamic code.

8. Permissions Explained

storage — stores your randomly generated Call ID and anonymous auth token locally on your device only
notifications — shows an incoming-call notification when someone calls you while the popup is closed
alarms — periodically re-establishes the background listener for incoming calls (no data is collected)
host permissions (Firebase domains) — connects to Firebase Realtime Database for signaling only; no personal data is stored
camera and microphone (runtime) — requested only when you start or answer a call via the browser's permission prompt

9. No Tracking, No Ads, No Analytics

FreeCalling contains no tracking code, no advertising networks, and no analytics services of any kind. Firebase Analytics is intentionally not used.

10. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed to children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

11. Your Choices

You can clear all locally stored data at any time by removing the Extension from chrome://extensions, which deletes your Call ID and auth token from your device.

12. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this same URL with an updated date.
